Cherry and Rape blossom festival
When colorful flowers bloom, spring has come to Ogata-mura. Rape blossoms and cherry colonnades (2,800 trees) line a total length of 20km (12miles).
Gradually, it begins to change from cherries to azaleas in South Pond Park.

In winter, when the snow covers everything and quiets the village, the villagers are released from their farming chores and can take time to practice their hobbies and rest.
A favorite pastime is ice-fishing on the frozen expanse of Lake Hachirogata. It is a telling sight, for of course one has to come from sturdy stock to enjoy this.
