Hello,

My name is Mathias Bergholdt Rasmussen, and I am the new CIR (Coordinator for International Relations) for Ogata Village, and in this short column I would like to do a quick self-introduction.

As previously mentioned, my name is Mathias Bergholdt Rasmussen – but you can call me Matty (マティー) as my name might be slightly difficult otherwise.

I come from Denmark but have spent a considerable about of time living in Japan. From November 2015 until November 2020 when I returned to Denmark, I was living in Tachikawa, Tokyo while I was working in Shibuya as an English teacher.

In 2021 I started a Bachelor’s Degree in Japan Studies at Aarhus University in Denmark.

In 2023 I went on exchange at International Christian University (ICU).

In 2023 after my exchange, I started teaching Japanese grammar at Aarhus University.

In 2025 I went on exchange again – this time to Waseda University which I graduated from in July 2025.

After my stay at Waseda University I started working at Ogata Village’s City Hall from August 2025.

As for my hobbies – I love playing music. I play the guitar and I am in a band located in Tokyo.

I also like reading books, listening to music, and watching movies.

こんにちは。
この度、大潟村の国際交流員（CIR）として着任いたしました、ラスムセン・マティアス・ベウホルトと申します。今回は簡単に自己紹介をさせていただきます。

前述したとおり、名前はラスムセン・マティアス・ベウホルトです。少し長いので、「マティ」と呼んでいただければ嬉しいです。

出身はデンマークですが、日本には長く滞在していた経験があります。2015年11月から2020年11月までの約5年間、東京の立川市に住みながら、渋谷で英語教師として働いていました。

2021年にはデンマークのオーフス大学で日本学科の学士課程を開始し、
2023年には国際基督教（キリスト教）大学（ICU）に交換留学しました。
留学後はオーフス大学で日本語文法の授業を担当し、
2025年には再び交換留学で早稲田大学に通い、同年7月に卒業しました。
その後、2025年8月より大潟村役場で勤務を開始いたしました。

趣味は音楽で、ギターを弾くことが大好きです。東京を拠点に活動しているバンドにも所属しています。
そのほかにも、読書、音楽鑑賞、映画鑑賞なども好きです。
